Meet Julia Bennett

Please introduce yourself to the Creating Change Magazine.

I was born in the Midwest, but I now live in central Texas. I gave my life to God at 17 and I have been praising Him ever since. Although the range on my musical influences is vast, I keep a soulful, R&B sound to my music. Being a true worshiper at heart, I want my music to glorify God and I hope to lead others to Christ.

Can you share the story behind your musical journey?

I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember. I was in was choir all throughout school and I started singing on the worship team when I was in the 8th grade. That’s when I found out that it was my happy place, I love getting to worship God through song. I started posting videos of me singing on my Instagram and my producer, Levester White, found my videos and it took off from there. I’ve been working with my amazing producer for about 4 years now.

Your sound is distinct and captivating. How would you describe your musical style?

I would describe my music style as a mix of soul, R&B, and gospel.

Your music has received critical acclaim and amassed a dedicated fan base. Can you share some highlights or memorable moments from your musical journey, such as performances, collaborations, or recognition that have stood out to you?

My main goal in making music is show the love of God and bring people closer to Him. I believe in a relationship with God. I was told that one young woman was contemplating suicide and she was invited to the church I was singing at the time. She said that she saw me worshipping and she gave her life to God. I got to meet her about a month later and she told me that she was the girl I was told about. It was a wonderful feeling to see how God used me and to see the outcome. This is what I love about this music journey.

What are the main themes or messages you aim to convey through your music?

My main theme and message I want to convey is the gospel. That we are all sinners, and we need a Saviour. That God, the creator of the heaves and the earth, loved us so much that he sent his son to die for us to bring us back in relationship with Him. Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection saved us all, now we just have to choose Him.

Music has the power to touch hearts and inspire change. What do you hope listeners experience or take away from your music?

For the believer I hope my music with uplift, edify, and encourage thier faith. For the unbeliever, I hope that it’ll draw them to the saving faith of Jesus Christ.

What projects are you currently working on, and what can readers expect to see from you in the coming months and years?

I am currently working on a fun, upbeat summer release that I am really excited for. People can expect more fun and encouraging music that continues to worship God. I can’t wait for that!
