The visual core of the book consists of a graphic transcription of the details of the tiny buildings and motifs of a town rich in monuments. These motifs are echoed on the cover and chapter dividers, and in a striking composite pattern on the book’s dust jacket. The colour scheme of the book is inspired by the colour world of the city’s characteristic buildings and the book’s photographic material, creating a coherent atmosphere.
